After a creative break Henri Hurtig and Mathias Bradler are back with a great EP. The Mashtronic EP #3 contains “King Of The Hill” and “Converted”. After the time-out the maestros took over the past weeks their sound is fresher than ever and we are pretty sure that this release is one of their best so far. The perfect mixture of Electro House and Tech House elements makes this release a “must have” for all DJ`s.Watch this space for more info!

We are very happy to present you Thomas Sagstad.
Thomas Sagstad is the hottest new act coming out of Norway in years. He has had continuous success to date. At age 22, he has already released numerous amounts of remixes and singles for the World’s biggest labels, such as Global Underground, Royal Flush, Cyber, Armada and licensing from Renaissance. Thomas has reached number 19 at US Top 100 Dance Charts, Top 10 Beatport Charts, and Top 5 iTunes Electronic Charts. While producing his own music, he is also rapidly building his reputation as a professional, hard-working, and talented deejay.
Thomas Sagstad is a 22-year old bloke from a little town outside the capital Oslo, now he is a part time Swede based in Helsingborg Sweden. Being hailed by the biggest EDM label, Global Underground, as the ‘Future Hero of Electronica,’ says it all. His style is a blend of the finest, house, techno, electro and progressive. This sound mixed all together, making it like no other.

Stel ist einer der führenden Grieche in der Progressive Szene und hat in seiner Karriere schon für einige Hammer Releases gesorgt, es sei hier nur an die exzellente “Infinity” auf Hope Recordings verwiesen. Diesmal hat es Stel zu den Jungs von Mashtronic gezogen, die sein „It Only Hurts When I Breathe“ releasen.
Diesmal ist er, wie schon öfters, sehr deep und housig unterwegs und produzierte „It Only Hurts When I Breathe“ trotzdem in einem sehr unverbrauchten Sound, der ohne viel Preset Recylcing funktioniert. Der Track baut sich sehr langsam aber stetig auf und wenn die Melodie nach dieser langen Vorlaufzeit im Break voll einschlägt ist für Euphorie gesorgt. Nach diesem kurzen, aber effektiven Intermezzo baut sich der Track wieder langsam ab und ist so exzellent mixbar.
Die B Seite geht einen unauffälligeren Weg und setzt mehr auf treibenden House Sound, garniert diesen mit netten und gemütlichen Melodien, die jedoch nicht so sehr überzeugen können wir im vorherigen Track. Alles in allem aber jedoch ein gutes Lied, das vor allem anfangs in House Sets zu gebrauchen ist.
„It Only Hurts When I Breathe“ rangiert schon seit einiger Zeit in meinen Charts ganz oben, die Melodie geht einem nicht mehr aus dem Kopf. „Sparky’s Heartstopper“ geht gegen die exzellente A Seite deswegen leider ein bisschen unter, ist jedoch keineswegs schlecht.

Die beiden Jungs von Mashtronic sind ständig auf der Suche nach neuen Tracks für ihr Label, diesmal haben sie bei Lenny Fontana & Mike Morin zugeschlagen und sich ihr “Brooklym Medlom” geschnappt. Das war keine blöde Idee, vor allem wenn man sich die Remixes dazu ansieht! Doch lest selber…
Das Original beginnt sehr vielversprechend, allerdings nutzt sich die Melodie durch den exzessiven Einsatz doch ein wenig ab, denn obwohl der Spannungsbogen stetig nach oben zeigt und nach und nach Elemente hinzugefügt werden, wäre eine kleine Verschnaufpause zwischendurch schon wünschenswert gewesen.
Tim Davison, der in letzter Zeit vor allem durch seinen Mix von Leftfield’s “Song Of Life” aufgefallen ist liefert als erstes seine Interpretation ab. Sein Remix ist Understatement pur, bis im Break die Melodie losbricht, um dem Track in der zweiten Hälfte den nötigen Drive zu verleihen.
Zu guter letzt kommen Mathias Bradler und Henri Hurtig an die Reihe. Die Mashtronic Jungs haben, wie es scheint, ihre Presets mal über Bord geworfen und werten mit ihrem Remix das Original deutlich auf. Die Lead-Melodie wird nur ansatzweise eingespielt und auch vom Arrangement her haben die beiden die Nase vorn.
Mashtronic hatten mit diesem Release wieder einen guten Riecher - zumindest bei der Wahl der Remixer. Das insgesamt doch etwas schwachbrüstige Original wird durch die beiden Neuinterpretationen deutlich aufgewertet. Und das will auch belohnt sein - weiter so!

Elef.ant joined our Restart Records team with his great track Ostwind. When we heard this track in the office for the first time we loved it and so we signed it straight!
Remixes are coming from Dubfunk, who is having a big hit with Mandala” on Audio Therapy right now. The next re-work is coming from Swiss hero Mario Zar aka Mogi. We all know him because of his huge releases on Steve Lawler`s VIVA Music and his own label Wolkenfunken only to name a few. The 3rd remix is coming from the upraising German talents Superlounge – housy Tech House at its best!. They had a big hit with Ghost on Restart Records last year and just signed their latest track Cuba to Yeah:No in the UK. Last but not least we bring you a massive remix from Cologne. It is coming from our mates Dualton. Their name is getting bigger and bigger this year, and after you heard their interpretation of Ostwind you know why!
